PRESSURE CANNER DIAL-GAUGE TESTING It’s time to inspect your pressure canner for the new season of home food preservation.
Check the condition of the handles, gasket, safety plug and canner itself. Make sure everything
is in proper working order before you start processing the first batch. Prior to each canning season, you should have the dial gauge tested. The gauge should also
be tested if any of these circumstances exists: The
gauge has been submerged in water The gauge
was dropped The gauge glass is broken,
cracked or has fallen out If any parts
are rusty If the pointer is not in the
“0” block
West Virginia University Extension Service is offering free testing of dial-type pressure canner gauges.
Please contact the Berkeley County WVU Extension office at 264-1936 for an appointment.

residents to make these lifestyle changes. Dining with Diabetes is a free program for those with diabetes and their
family members. The series of 4 classes and a 3-month follow-up includes clinical testing, nutrition information, recipe demonstrations,
exercise,and group support.
