Dining with Diabetes

Diabetes is a common, serious and costly disease. West Virginia ranks 2nd in the nation with a prevalence of more than 10%. Many complications of diabetes can be controlled and even prevented by making lifestyle changes - changing eating habits, increasing physical activity, and losing weight. Dining with Diabetes programs provide a way for our county residents to make these lifestyle changes. Dining with Diabetes is a free program for those with diabetes and their family members. The series of 4 classes and a 3-month follow-up includes clinical testing, nutrition information, recipe demonstrations, exercise, and group support.

Thursdays, October 14, 21, 28 and November 4, 2010, Follow-Up Class TBA

This program is free and open to anyone with diabetes and their family members but you must sign up in advance. Classes will include demonstrations on how to prepare meals that are healthy and use less fat, salt, and sugar without cutting taste. There will be an opportunity to taste a variety of main dishes, side dishes, and desserts.  Space is Limited…Call 304-264-1936 to Register Today!
