Diabetes is a common,
serious and costly disease. West Virginia ranks 2nd in the nation with a prevalence of more than 10%. Many complications
of diabetes can be controlled and even prevented by making lifestyle changes - changing eating habits, increasing physical
activity, and losing weight. Dining with Diabetes programs provide a way for our county residents to make these
lifestyle changes. Dining with Diabetes is a free program for those with diabetes and their family members. The
series of 4 classes and a 3-month follow-up includes clinical testing, nutrition information, recipe demonstrations, exercise, and
group support.

Family Storyteller Program
The six-week Family Storyteller Program is for parents and their children ages 3 to 5. Each week, parents will receive
a take-home book to keep and tips on sharing books with their children. Under the guidance of a trained facilitator, parents
will practice reading the books to their children and learn several activities to do with them at home.

The CARDIAC Challenge is a nutrition and physical activity program
