in Martinsburg and Inwood. Club members took part in decorating our float with garland, stockings, lights, glitter spray,
4-H signs, a Christmas tree with homemade ornaments, wrapped packages, fake snow, stars and hay bales covered with red sheets

parades. As part of our attire, we wore light-up Rudolph noses and our new club shirts. Our club is growing as a FAMILY through

Greensburg Go-Getters
4H Club Has Christmas Spirit! The
Greensburg Go-Getters 4-H club went to the Martinsburg Mall for their annual Salvation Army stocking stuffing event. This
event benefits children in the local community. Each 4-H member went shopping and then filled a stocking. All
together 30 stockings were stuffed. The following 4-Hers participated in this event: Kelsie Greenfield,
Arianna Cunningham, Kyle Cunningham, Autumn Funkhouser, Dennis Funkhouser, Emily Keefer, Roger Reed, Jared Shackelford, Jasmine
Miller, Keegan Miller, Corbin Saville, Desirae Reed, Kelton Werner, Zane Werner, and Patrick Talbot. The club also held their
annual Christmas party this month at Shepherd University. The club members enjoyed bowling and billiards while snacking on
many wonderful desserts. Instead of doing a gift exchange, club members agreed to bring one unopened gift
for Toys for Tots. This will help benefit the local community for the young children whose parents are unable to afford Christmas
gifts. The turnout was great, a lot of gifts were collected, and everyone had a great time. Submitted by: Autumn Funkhouser, Club Reporter

non-perishable food items for C-CAPP (this is an on-going food drive), new 4-H calendars were handed out, each member received
a new “Go Green” 4-H bag. The next meeting will be January 9th with Briana Sine’s grandfather as guest speaker,

delicious Christmas refreshments were enjoyed.
Tuscarora Indians
The Tuscarora Indians 4-H Club met at
Elmcroft Nursing Home on December 6, 2011 to spread Christmas cheer to all of the residents. They performed
various talents, such as singing, instrument playing, and poem and scripture reading. There was also some
group singing. There was not a Scrooge in sight as the members and residents celebrated the glorious and
joyful Christmas season. After the showcase of talents, members served refreshments to the residents and
enjoyed the tasty treats themselves. Even
though receiving gifts is fun and exciting, the joy of giving to others less fortunate than one’s self is so much greater.
There are other ways the club served the community, too. A member of the club has organized a knitting
group, which knits hats and scarves for those in need during the coldest, most brutal time of the year. Members
also donated gifts for a local men’s shelter and were delivered before Christmas. The Tuscarora Indians 4-H Club experienced the merry spirit of Christmas
and giving to others in need this holiday season. With a little determination and a cheerful attitude,
you can make a difference in your community, as well! ~ Emily Lehr
On
