4-H Dance Weekend March 2-4, 2012
Open to 4-H members at least in 6th grade and all 4-H Leaders. The purpose of this
weekend session is to provide dance learning experiences that will challenge interested 4-H’ers at their skill level
and provide in-depth training for 4-H’ers to lead or teach heritage and folk dances. Deadline to register is February
3rd, 2012.

Teen Leader/Charting Weekend, March 23-25, 2012 at Jackson’s Mill
The
purpose of this weekend is to provide 4-H members with personal development experiences to help them better understand themselves,
and display more personal confidence when assuming leadership positions and when taking part in Charting workshops. The events
are open to West Virginia 4-H members from ages 13 - 19 and participants may not be beyond their 1st year in college. Agents
must sign the pre-registration form to verify participants. Deadline to register is February 24.

4-H Poster & Photo Contests There are six subject categories for the 4-H Poster contests; 4-H Promotion, 4-H
Health, Nutrition, and Food Safety, 4-H Litter, Recycling and Environment, 4-H Science, Engineering & Technology, 4-H
Dairy & 4-H Safety. Any current 4-H member, age 9-21 may enter any or all categories regardless of his/her project enrollment.
Entries are judged in the county and the top county winner for each age division per subject area is sent to WVU for
the next phase of judging. All entries that go to the State finals will receive a special West Virginia
4-H Certificate and appropriate ribbon award. Gold ribbon winners will be displayed at Jackson’s Mill during the summer
and all entries will be exhibited at the WV State Fair. Deadline for entries to be submitted to the County Extension office
is February 14.

State 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor's Training February 17-19, 2012 4-H
Shooting Sports Weekend will be held February 17-19, 2012 at WVU Jackson’s Mill. (There will not
be a 4-H University event this year) The goal of Shooting Sports Certification Training is to send participants home with
tools they can use in clubs and camps. This training is open to adult and teen (age 16 as of Jan. 1, 2012) leaders.
Agents must sign the pre-registration form to verify participants. Registration Deadline is February 10th.

Beef Expo Photo Contest, Cook-Off & WV Beef Ambassador Contest These
events are to be held during the 2012 WV Beef Expo at Jackson’s Mill April 12-14, 2012. Beef Recipes and Photography
entries must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2012.
